Inpatient Projects: More Inpatient Projects

  • HealthOne, the parent company of Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colo., plans to invest $50 million to expand and renovate Swedish Medical’s stroke and neuroscience center. The project will include adding 65,000 square feet of space, renovating 28,000 square feet and increasing the number of beds to 39 for the neuroscience program. It also will include building two additional floors in the south tower resulting in new neuroscience, medical and surgical beds, developing a new neurocritical care unit to provide services for patients with more significant needs, and redesigning the lobby and entrance.

 

  • St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will build a $25 million, nine-level, 1,601-space garage at 542 Danny Thomas Place on its campus near downtown Memphis, Tenn. Designed by architects Evans Taylor Foster Childress, the garage is expected to be completed in 11 months. This will be the third garage on the hospital campus.

 

  • The new 25,300 square foot Kiowa District Hospital and a new attached clinic at 810 Drumm St. in Kiowa, Kan. has just been completed. The clinic and hospital, which replaces a 1950s-era facility, were designed by Wichita, Kan.-based GLMV Architecture and developed by Texas-based MW Builders. The hospital is one of 83 critical access hospitals in Kansas that typically serve rural areas.
