Like the U.S. economy, the healthcare real estate (HRE) sector has experienced a precarious and excruciatingly slow recovery since the Great Recession bottomed out in mid-2009. Full recovery for both might still be a year or more away. But savvy HRE firms are seizing current opportunities while repositioning for what could be a very different business in the future.

A group of industry experts recently shared those viewpoints and more during a panel discussion titled “New Strategies in Healthcare: The State of the Market.” The session kicked off the annual Illinois Real Estate Journal Healthcare Real Estate Conference, held April 11 in Chicago.
