FOURTH QUARTER SAW BIG JUMP IN MOB SALES

Medical office building (MOB) sales were cruising along at a good and above average pace for most of 2011 until – wham! – they took off in the fourth quarter (Q4), just as many sales professionals had predicted.
In fact, MOB sales in Q4 totaled $1.14 billion, making it one of just 12 quarters since 2001(out of a total of 44 quarters) in which sales topped a billion dollars, according to statistics from New York-based Real Capital Analytics (RCA) Inc., which shares its MOB sales data with Healthcare Real Estate Insights™.
