Inpatient Projects: Florida OKs new $125 million hospital

The state of Florida recently approved a Certificate of Need for Shands Jacksonville’s planned hospital on the north side of Jacksonville. The hospital campus is expected to include a new medical office building (MOB).

More than four years after it first announced plans to build a new hospital in a growing area north of Jacksonville, Fla., the Shands Jacksonville health system recently received the go ahead from the state to proceed with the project.

For several years, the planned hospital was a victim of the recession, put on the shelf as the health system dealt with a variety of other issues.
