BIRMINGHAM, ALA.-BASED FIRM BUYS INPATIENT REHAB HOSPITAL IN LAS VEGAS

The Sanders Trust of Birmingham, Ala., recently acquired the 50-bed Desert Canyon Rehabilitation Hospital in Las Vegas for $17 million.

The Sanders Trust (TST), a medical real estate investment firm based in Birmingham, Ala., has a goal of adding $100 million to its portfolio in 2011 through acquisitions and development.
The company made significant progress toward that goal in May by paying $17 million for the real estate associated with the HealthSouth Desert Canyon Rehabilitation Hospital in Las Vegas.
