HCP Inc. elects Christine Garvey to its board

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach-based HCP Inc. (NYSE: HCP), America’s largest healthcare real estate investment trust (REIT), recently announced the election of Christine Garvey to its Board of Directors. HCP’s board now totals 11 members, nine of whom are independent of the company.

Ms. Garvey has been a member of the Board of Trustees for Denver-based ProLogis (NYSE: PLD), which owns and manages distribution centers throughout the world, since September 2005. It was at that time when ProLogis merged with Catellus Development Corp., where Ms. Garvey had been on the board of directors since 1995. She is also a member of the board of directors of UnionBanCal Corp. (NYSE: UB) and has served on the board of directors of Hilton Hotels Corp. (NYSE: HLT).

Ms. Garvey was the global head of Corporate Real Estate Services at Deutsche Bank AG from 2001 to 2004, where she continues to provide consulting services. Prior to that, she served as vice president, Worldwide Real Estate and Workplace Resources at Cisco Systems Inc. and as Group EVP at Bank of America.
