KEYBANK IS KEYING ON HEALTHCARE REAL ESTATE

At Cleveland-based KeyBank, healthcare real estate financing is certainly a ‘key’ part of the firm’s real estate capital division.

Healthcare is one of six primary lines of business in the division, and the healthcare segment generates about 10 percent of the contribution margin for KeyBank Real Estate Capital. In turn, that unit generates about 20 percent of the contribution margin of Key Corp. (NYSE: KEY), a $7.5 billion revenue (2006) financial service giant.

This emphasis makes KeyBank a major player in financing healthcare real estate.
