Update Added New Floor, Doubling Boutique Capacity
PHILADELPHIA (May 14, 2026) — Rittenhouse Post Acutein Philadelphia has completed its renovation, adding a new floor with 19 patient beds – doubling its capacity. The milestone coincides with the 38-bed skilled nursing center being named a 2026 Best Nursing Home by U.S. News & World Report in the short-term rehab category.
Located at 1800 Lombard Street in the Penn Medicine Rittenhouse building, the center provides post-hospital and short-term rehab care. “Rittenhouse Post Acute is a very unique, sought-after skilled nursing setting, known for its high-quality care and intimate feel,” said Celeste Foltz, regional director of market development for Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports Rittenhouse Post Acute. “The team is pleased to expand its capacity with this renovation, while retaining its boutique size.”
Rittenhouse Post Acute (formerly Penn Presbyterian Continuing Care Center) is located on the fifth and sixth floors of Penn Medicine Rittenhouse. The center features a subacute wing with all private suites and a state-of-the-art rehab therapy gym.
During its renovation, Rittenhouse Post Acute continued to enhance its programming with the recent introduction of OrthoWIN, a highly specialized subacute care program for orthopedic recovery. Pasquale Colavita, DO, one of the area’s leading Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) specialists, is directing the new initiative with the support of an interdisciplinary care team at the center.
OrthoWIN caters to patients recovering from a range of orthopedic surgeries and injuries; it is ideal for those with co-morbidities or without the social support to recover at home independently. PM&R, also known as Physiatry, focuses on the restoration of health and function with an integrated treatment plan including pain management and physical therapy.
U.S. News evaluated nearly 15,000 nursing homes nationwide for its Best Nursing Homes 2026 ranking. To determine the ratings, it analyzed data about staffing and patient outcomes, as well as health and safety violations.

“When making key decisions on care, seniors and their families often look to the U.S. News annual list, relying on its thorough, data-driven analysis,” added Foltz. “Rittenhouse is well deserving of this notable recognition. It is a true testament to the skill, dedication and compassion of the center’s exceptional team.”
