Sure, the economy, various business sectors and the stock market indices have been quite volatile in recent months.

With this volatility in mind, some business observers, and perhaps even some economists, have suggested that the country is headed for a recession, or, perhaps, is already in one.

Not so fast, says a well-known economist who was once the chief economist for CNBC and co-host of that network’s morning show, “Squawk Box.”

Marci Rossell, who has a Ph.D. in economics from Southern Methodist University (SMU) and is currently the senior economic advisor with New York-based Delphin Investments, was one of the keynote speakers at last week’s BOMA International 2025 Medical Real Estate Conference in Denver.

Held from May 7-9, the healthcare real estate (HRE) sector’s largest conference comprised 15 panel sessions and speaker presentations and was attended by about 1,400 people, according to Amy Chisolm, BOMA International’s VP of education and meetings.

Ms. Rossell kicked off the second day of the conference with her presentation, “The Economy 2025: Tax Cuts, Deregulation and Tariffs Drive the Agenda.”
