For Immediate Release
Washington Township, N.J. (November 12, 2024) – Atkins Companies, a leading multigenerational commercial real estate development, investment and property management firm, has completed a multi-million dollar capital improvement project at its Washington Medical Arts building located at 405 Hurffville-Cross Keys Road in Washington Township, Gloucester County, N.J.
The Washington Medical Arts building is a two-story, 77,000-square-foot Class-A medical office building acquired by Atkins Companies in 2023. Ideally situated steps from Jefferson Washington Township Hospital in Washington Township’s growing medical corridor, the investment substantially upgraded the building to meet the current needs of the region’s healthcare providers.
The renovation project included the conversion of a former fitness center on the first floor into 33,000 square feet of clinical medical space. In addition, approximately 7,700 square feet of leasable space was created by filling in the former two-story area of the fitness center.
Beyond the additional space, the project included major upgrades to the building’s common areas on both floors with new lighting, ceilings, flooring, paint/wallcovering, furniture, artwork and plantings, as well as new interior digital building directories. New common area restrooms and the remodeling of the building’s existing restrooms capped off the interior improvements.
Atkins Companies also made several exterior improvements including upgraded building signage and a new monument sign, the addition of an ADA-compliant front entry ramp and an enhanced door access and security system.
“Southern New Jersey’s consistent population growth has created an increased need for advanced community-based healthcare facilities,” said Cory Atkins, Principal of Atkins Companies. “Through this project, we have transformed the Washington Medical Arts building into an ultramodern space that meets the needs of today’s healthcare providers.”
Washington Township, the largest municipality in Gloucester County, has grown into a hub for many of the region’s expanding healthcare networks including Cooper University Healthcare, Penn Medicine, Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and Virtua Health, besides being home to Jefferson Washington Township Hospital, a key piece of Jefferson Health’s 18-hospital network serving the Delaware Valley and South Jersey.
The Washington Medical Arts building still has available medical space remaining for lease. For more information, please contact Scott Martin of Avison Young at 610-276-3148 or scott.martin@avisonyoung.com.
