October 15, 2024 – Foley, AL – South Baldwin Regional Medical Center’s capacity to see patients will expand later this month with the opening of a 185,000-square-foot addition to the hospital campus, and along with that growth comes a new name.
South Baldwin Regional Medical Center is now Baldwin Health.
“We’ve operated as a healthcare system for some time now, and we’re excited to move forward with a name that is truly reflective of our services and the communities we serve,” Baldwin Health CEO Margaret Roley says. “In addition to main campus expansion, we’ve grown with our communities, meeting the healthcare needs of our neighbors beyond Foley and South Baldwin.”
The health system now has more than 25 locations throughout Baldwin County, including 10 new South Baldwin Medical Group locations that opened over the last three years, bringing more advanced services like neurospine to the community.
South Baldwin Medical Group, which employs more than 70 physicians, will also rename and become Baldwin Health Medical Group. No matter the name, quality care is still at the forefront, Roley says.
“While our name is changing, our unwavering purpose of helping people get well and live healthier lives remains the same,” she says, “And our commitment to providing quality care and an exceptional patient experience remains steadfast.”
The hospital campus expansion, which expects to welcome new patients the last week of October, includes:
- New surgical facilities with a dedicated outpatient surgery center
- Space to care for double the number of high-acuity patients in intensive care
- A dedicated women’s and children’s unit
- Additional inpatient beds to accommodate more patients
