News Release: New Era Companies announces 1Q 2021 development activity, launch of $25m NEMI Fund IV    

Grapevine, Texas – May 18, 2021

New Era Companies, LLC today announced the opening of 2 healthcare assets in Louisiana and Indiana, and the commencement and development of a new Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital in Overland Park, KS.  In addition, New Era Companies, LLC successfully launched its recent healthcare real estate equity fund, $25m NEMI Fund IV, LLC on May 6, 2021.

The launch of NEMI Fund IV, LLC is a continuation and response to the company’s most recent healthcare real estate equity fund, NEMI Fund III, LLC which launched in July 2020.  NEMI Fund III, LLC successfully raised $25m in equity to support the strategic growth of New Era’s medical developments.  It should be noted, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

New Era Companies, LLC is also pleased to update the ongoing construction of 2 Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospitals (IRF’s) in Shreveport, LA and Milwaukee, WI.  These 2 facilities are scheduled to be completed by end of 2021.  These 2 facilities are under development in partnership with WB Development and will be managed and operated by Nobis Rehabilitation Partners.  These IRF’s are part of a multi-year strategic growth plan to deliver rehabilitation services to a growing population and markets that need additional rehabilitation services.

Louisiana:

1. Oceans Behavioral Hospital and Medical Office Building – Baton Rouge

Working in partnership with the Parish of East Baton Rouge, Mayors Office, Baton Rouge Area Chamber, and Oceans Healthcare, New Era Partners has successfully completed construction of the former surgical hospital and Medical Office Building located in North Baton Rouge. Oceans Healthcare has announced the opening of the 40 bed behavioral hospital that will become the flagship facility and center of excellence for geriatric mental and behavioral healthcare in the greater Baton Rouge market.  In addition, the Medical Office Building includes tenants Oceans Healthcare Outpatient Behavioral Center, the Ochsner Community Health Brees Family Center, Louisiana Center for Eyes, and Capital Area Human Services.

This is the 6th behavioral hospital that New Era Companies, LLC has acquired and or developed for Oceans Healthcare.  In addition to Baton Rouge, the company recently opened 2 behavioral hospitals in Hammond, LA and Waco, TX in 2020.

Indiana:

2. Indianapolis Rehabilitation Hospital – Carmel

WB Development Partners and New Era Companies have successfully completed construction and have opened the Indianapolis Rehabilitation Hospital located in Carmel, Indiana.  The 46,395-square-foot, 40 bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital is managed and operated by Nobis Rehabilitation Partners.

The hospital offers intensive inpatient rehabilitation services using an interdisciplinary team approach for patients with complex medical, nursing, and rehabilitative needs.

Indianapolis Rehabilitation Hospital is one of a number of inpatient rehabilitation facilities WB Development Partners, New Era Companies and Nobis Rehabilitation Partners plan to develop to serve patient needs across the country.

Kansas:

3. College Park Rehabilitation Hospital – Overland Park

WB Development Partners and New Era Companies are pleased to announce the development of College Park Rehabilitation Hospital located in Overland Park, KS.  The 47,988 square-foot, 40 bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital will be managed and operated by Nobis Rehabilitation Partners.  Construction is planned to commence summer of 2021.

The hospital will offer intensive inpatient rehabilitation services using an interdisciplinary team approach for patients with complex medical, nursing, and rehabilitative needs.  The hospital will have modern private patient rooms, advanced technologies and best in class medical services.
