Anchor Health Properties announces partnership with Bayhealth to build medical office building in Delaware
(Wilmington, DE) Sussex Campus Partners, LLC, a partnership of Anchor Health Properties and Bayhealth Medical Center, is pleased to announce development of an on-campus medical office building (MOB) located in Milford, Delaware.
The project, an 85,000 square foot, three-story MOB, is located on the Bayhealth Sussex Campus adjacent to the new 128-bed Bayhealth Hospital, and Bayhealth Outpatient Center. Slated to open in early 2020, tenants of the building include Nemours duPont Pediatrics and Nemours Senior Care leasing approximately 40,000 SF on the first floor. Within the Nemours space are proposed specialty care services, including neurology, endocrinology, allergy, orthopedics, physical and speech therapy, radiology and MRI. Bayhealth and private physician office space, including women’s services, family practice, and various specialists comprise the upper two floors. Construction is anticipated to commence in Q4 of 2018.
“We are extremely excited to bring specialized pediatric services, as a complement to our existing primary care services, to a part of Delaware where they have not been previously available,” said Ann Hurst, Administrator, Ambulatory Operations, Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. “Soon we will be able to offer a broad spectrum of care on the Bayhealth Sussex Campus allowing patients an opportunity to receive holistic care close to home. This campus will offer a central location for total wellness and health for children. In addition, Nemours is moving their Senior Care services to the new medical office building on the Bayhealth campus to better serve our senior clients.”
Anchor was selected by Bayhealth and Nemours to develop the project from a highly qualified field of healthcare developers through an RFP process facilitated by Savills Studley. Anchor will also be responsible for leasing space in the project to private physicians. Anchor Health Properties began working with Nemours duPont Pediatrics when the Company led the development of Nemours duPont Pediatrics, Deptford in New Jersey.
“We are excited for the opportunity to work with Nemours again and partner with Bayhealth on the development of this important project on Bayhealth’s Sussex Campus,” said Katie Jacoby, Executive Vice President Strategy and Development at Anchor Health Properties. “We look forward to working with the team to bring necessary pediatric and specialty services to this community that complements the medical campus that is under construction.”
“The 169-acre Bayhealth Sussex Campus is designed with the vision of providing comprehensive healthcare to the community for the next 100 years and beyond, through each stage of life,” said Bayhealth President and CEO Terry Murphy, FACHE. “The on-campus MOB is a critical part of that success. Anchor was selected as our partner for their strategic approach, experience in building similar medical facilities and their partnership mentality and we’re proud to partner with them on this venture.”
The architect of record for the project is Stantec and the construction manager for the project is Target Building Construction.
