News Release: NaviNet Has Been Acquired by NantHealth

January 8, 2016 – NaviNet, Inc., a leading healthcare information technology company providing a real time network linking payers and providers to enhance value-based reimbursement capabilities, completed a sale to NantHealth.

Cain Brothers served as the sole financial advisor to NaviNet’s three equity owners, Independence Blue Cross, Highmark, and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, in connection with the sale, leading the initial evaluation of alternatives, and the negotiation and structuring of the transaction.

NaviNet provides a real-time healthcare network that integrates value-based reimbursement and clinical workflows through a series of advanced network applications to enable enhanced collaboration between payers and providers. NaviNet’s integrated network includes 60% of US-based physicians, over 2,000 hospitals, and 500,000+ individual users completing over 27 million transactions per month.

NantHealth, founded by Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, is a transformational health information technology company offering cloud-based, intelligent, oncology centric clinical operating systems for physicians, patients, payers, and researchers. The acquisition of NaviNet enables NantHealth to expand its network to further penetrate the payer market, and provide real-time data exchange capabilities for both clinical and administrative data. Additionally, NantHealth provides a logical expansion of current NaviNet capabilities for its former Blues owners and all current payer customers.
