Outpatient Projects: More Outpatient Real Estate Project News

  • St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Ill., recently received the green light from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board to proceed with a $14 million, 22,352 square foot ambulatory care center just a few blocks from the hospital. The facility would be connected to the existing Effingham Medical Center office building at 900 W. Temple Ave. in Effingham, a city of 13,000 or so residents in the middle of the state, about 100 miles northeast of St. Louis. CEO Theresa Rutherford said in a statement, “We are kind of excited about this. It will enable us to consolidate existing services and add new services.” These include laboratory specimen collecting, diagnostic imaging and women’s wellness. Ms. Rutherford said there will be plenty of room in the medical center to add other specialty services that aren’t widely available in the area, including neurology, urology and psychiatry. The new facility, which will be funded by about $5.8 million in cash and securities and a mortgage of $8.1 million, is expected to be completed in June 2016.
