JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — After an extended legal battle, UF Health has been given final approval to build its planned $125 million hospital in an area known as Northside Jacksonville. The plan for the new hospital was initially approved by the state in 2012, but construction was delayed when Memorial Hospital Jacksonville, part of HCA Holdings Inc., filed an appeal. After a settlement, Memorial dropped the appeal and Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration recently gave its final approval.
