PHILADELPHIA —Main Line Health (MLH) in Philadelphia has engaged Chicago-based Jones Lang LaSalle’s Healthcare Solutions group to oversee and enhance the system’s maintenance and engineering functions with a goal of increasing economic efficiencies, performance improvements and operational advantages.
According to officials with Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE: JLL), Main Line Health joins a growing number of hospital systems hiring third-party firms to oversee and manage certain aspects of its physical plants, such as real estate, engineering and other facility-related functions. Main Line, a not-for-profit system, will have JLL provide facility services for its five hospitals and a drug and alcohol treatment center. In all, the Main Line campuses have a total of 1,385 beds and four million square feet of space. The firm’s assignment includes providing plant operations, contract procurement, energy management, vendor management and related support services. This includes the management of all maintenance and engineering-related personnel employed by Main Line Health.
