Inpatient Projects: Ventura County approves bonds for $307 million medical center expansion

VENTURA, Calif. – The Ventura County Board of Supervisors last month approved the largest bond issue in the county’s history, with the bulk of the $360 million in bond proceeds earmarked for a $307 million addition to Ventura County Medical Center.

The three-story, 232,000 square foot, 120-bed facility is slated for completion in 2017. The project was spurred by the need to meet state seismic standards as well as an opportunity to replace outdated facilities built in the 1920s and 1950s.
