The average price paid per square foot for medical office buildings (MOBs) in 2013 was just under $230, according to statistics from real estate research firm Real Capital Analytics (RCA) Inc.

Yet, it came as no surprise to a broker who represented the seller of the three-building Sunrise Medical Campus in Puyallup, Wash., that the price per square foot (PSF) paid for the recent deal was nearly double last year’s national average.

In the sale, Seattle-based Clise Properties paid $40.2 million for the campus, which has a total of 98,815 square feet of space. That equates to about $407 PSF.
