Todd Varney is not only a healthcare real estate developer but a triathlete as well.
To meet Todd Varney is to meet a highly conditioned athlete.
However, this was not always the case for the healthcare developer with NexCore Group.Fact is, Mr. Varney was diagnosed as obese in 2008.
Though the news shocked him, it also inspired Mr. Varney to start exercising and competing in perhaps the most grueling of competitions: triathlons.
Another setback to his health in 2012 – prostate cancer – failed to deter Mr. Varney. After enduring an onslought of proton radiation treatments, he’s now cancer-free and training once again.
Because of his story, Mr. Varney was chosen one of 45 finalists for seven at-large spots in the Ironman World Championship this fall in Hawaii.
We’re sorry to report that Mr. Varney’s video entry did not garner enough Internet votes to land him one of the spots offered in “Kona Inspired: Anything is Possible.”
