The one-stop shopping concept for outpatient healthcare facilities is coming to the Bluffton and Hilton Head Island area of South Carolina.

In recent weeks, Jupiter, Fla.-based Rendina Cos., a healthcare real estate and development firm, broke ground in Bluffton on a $16 million, 60,000 square foot outpatient facility that will offer services ranging from orthopedics to breast health.

The outpatient center is being constructed on a 12-acre parcel near the intersection of Buck Island Road and U.S. 278, on the road out to Hilton Head Island.

Rendina is the developer and owner of the facility, which will be about 80 percent leased by Hilton Head Regional Healthcare (HHRC), whose hospital, the 93-bed Hilton Head Regional Medical Center, is located about 10 miles to the east on Hilton Head Island. The remaining 20 percent of the facility is available to independent physicians and practices, according to Todd Varney, executive VP of business development for Rendina.
