Outpatient Projects: VA plans $150M N.C. outpatient clinic

DEVELOPER WILL OWN THE 350,000 S.F. FACILITY AND LEASE IT BACK TO THE VA

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has its site locked and loaded and is moving forward with soliciting contractors to build its future $150 million, 350,000 square foot outpatient center in Kernersville, N.C., about 11 miles outside of Winston-Salem.

The future facility is slated for a 39-acre site next to Novant Health’s Kernersville Medical Center, which opened in 2011. The new hospital, according to local officials, is spurring plenty of new development, including new medical facilities, in the growing area just off of U.S. Interstate 40.
