Transactions: Griffin-American pays $51M for MOBs

Prolific healthcare real estate investor Griffin-American Healthcare REIT II Inc., an unlisted real estate investment trust (REIT), recently acquired two medical office buildings (MOBs) on the campus of a future proton beam therapy facility in Knoxville, Tenn.

The Newport Beach, Calif.-based REIT, which is co-sponsored by American Healthcare Investors and Griffin Capital Corp., paid $51.2 million for the two-building complex, which has a total of 167,082 square feet. That works out to about $306 per square foot (PSF).
