Heitman LLC and NexCore Healthcare Capital Corp. acquired the 64,261 square foot Professional Office Building in Lanham, Md., for $23 million.

Opportunities to acquire high-quality medical office buildings (MOBs) in the Washington, D.C., area have been somewhat rare in recent years. As a result, when such properties are indeed put on the market, the competition heats up quite nicely – especially if you’re the seller or broker.

 The buyer, of course, can reap some nice rewards as well, as the Washington area continues to grow and remain economically healthy when compared to certain other regions and areas of the country.
