ALTER+CARE DEVELOPING 54,000 S.F. HEALTH & WELLNESS CENTER IN ARKANSAS

Chicago-based Alter+Care is developing the future $14.5 million, 54,000 square foot St. Bernards Health & Wellness Institute in Jonesboro, Ark. Hospital officials say the new facility will enable them to promote wellness and fitness.

Preventive medicine is starting to play a bigger and bigger role in healthcare. In Jonesboro, Ark., St. Bernards Medical Center is jumping on the bandwagon by planning for a health and wellness center on its campus.

Chicago-based Alter+Care is developing the future $14.5 million, 54,000 square foot St. Bernards Health & Wellness Institute that is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2011.

“We feel strongly that prevention and wellness will be the bedrock of healthcare in the future,” Michael Givens, St. Bernards Medical Center’s chief operating officer, said in a statement.
