By John Mugford

Chicago-based Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) recently entered into a contract with Arlington Heights, Ill.-based Alexian Brothers Health System to provide property management services for the provider’s 700,000 square foot medical office building (MOB) portfolio. The portfolio comprises 50 properties throughout the northwestern suburbs of Chicago.

As part of its assignment, JLL is to provide services such as lease administration, property management, project and facility management, leasing, and accounting. Some of the more prominent buildings in the portfolio include Brock Medical Plaza and Wimmer Medical Plaza in Elk Grove Village, and the Doctors Office Building One and 1786 Moon Lake Boulevard in Hoffman Estates. The properties include ambulatory care facilities as well as physician office space.

Don Hamilton, JLL’s head of healthcare, said in a news release: “This assignment is indicative of a recent trend in which healthcare firms are seeking to enhance the ‘patient experience,’ maximize efficiency and save on operating costs while seeking intrinsic value from their real estate assets.”
