The possible development of a surgery center in Elk Grove, Calif., located south of Sacramento, could lead to the eventual development of a $200 million medical campus for Northern California healthcare giant Sutter Health.
Sacramento-based Sutter is aiming toward a 2010 opening for its planned ambulatory surgery center (ASC) in
Elk Grove, which according to local news reports has been hit hard by residential foreclosures.
The economy in the area is struggling with one of California’s highest rate of home mortgage foreclosures. But
Sutter’s new campus would provide a significant boost by bringing in hundreds of good-paying jobs.
