PMB tees up large MOB in Pasadena

PASADENA, Calif. – San Diego-based Pacific Medical Buildings (PMB) recently started construction on its largest-ever medical office building (MOB), the 190,000 square foot Huntington Pavilion in Pasadena.

The facility, which is slated for completion in early 2009, will include outpatient surgery, imaging, and a variety of cancer services such as radiation oncology and the breast center. It will also include some upscale amenities, such as a specialty café, pharmacy, and an outdoor courtyard with a commissioned art sculpture.

Mark Toothacre, president of Pacific Medical Buildings, said in a prepared statement that Huntington Pavilion “ will be considered one of the premier medical office buildings in Los Angeles.”

The MOB is slated for the corner of California Boulevard and South Fair Oaks Avenue on the campus of 604-bed Huntington Memorial Hospital. PMB is also developing a 700-space parking structure on the campus. Currently, Pacific Medical Buildings is leasing exclusively to Huntington Hospital physicians and is expected to have full occupancy by the completion of the project. Tenants will also have the option to invest as owners in the building.
