Facility will bring 24/7 emergency care closer to residents and families
The facility will provide another access point for emergency treatment across Madison County while helping manage demand at existing hospital emergency departments, including Huntsville Hospital’s Level I Trauma Center.
“North Huntsville is an important part of our city, and investments like this help ensure residents have the services they need as our community grows,” said Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle. “Having emergency care close to home gives families peace of mind and makes our neighborhoods stronger. We’re grateful to Huntsville Hospital for its continued commitment to the people who live, work and learn in North Huntsville.”
The project builds on HH Health’s recent investment in Physician Care North Huntsville, a primary care clinic that opened in June near Alabama A&M University. Together, these facilities will expand access to both primary and emergency care in an area that has historically had fewer convenient healthcare options.
The North Huntsville project is part of a broader HH Health effort to expand emergency care access across Madison County. It builds on the success of Crestwood Medical Center’s freestanding emergency department in Harvest, which opened in 2024. HH Health will also break ground on a new facility in Hampton Cove on Wednesday, Nov. 4, with another future location planned for Madison. Together, these investments will provide more options for emergency care across the county, supported by the hospitals and advanced services of HH Health.
Construction of the North Huntsville Freestanding Emergency Department is expected to be completed in December 2027.
