News Release: New medical office building makes outpatient care more convenient for Lake County residents

Facility moves imaging, lab and rehab services into one location for routine visits.

AdventHealth has opened a new medical office building in Tavares, relocating several outpatient services into a space designed to make routine visits more convenient for patients.

Located across from AdventHealth Waterman on Huffstetler Drive, the 50,000-square-foot facility opened Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local leaders and residents.

The building brings together imaging, cardiac rehabilitation and lab services, with space reserved for future physician offices.

“Health care doesn’t always happen in big moments. Often, it’s the everyday things, like a scan, a lab test or time spent in rehab,” said Brandon Nudd, president and CEO of AdventHealth Waterman. “From parking to check-in to receiving care, this space was designed to make those visits simpler and easier to move through.”

Sabine Vatel, AdventHealth Waterman director of mission and ministry, spoke a blessing and said a prayer over the patients, team member and facility.

These outpatient services were previously located inside the hospital. The new building keeps those services closely connected to the hospital campus across the street, while giving patients an easier way to complete routine visits without having to navigate a full hospital.

“The care itself hasn’t changed,” said Dr. Michael Fountain, AdventHealth Waterman chief of staff. “It’s the same teams and the same level of support, just in a space designed for these types of visits.”

This project began in early 2025 as part of a broader effort to keep pace with the area’s growth. Lake County has seen steady population increases in recent years, leading to more people needing outpatient services. The new building is designed to help meet those needs by offering local residents a more direct path for routine care.
