The 121,117-square-foot Specialty Care Center in Reno, Nevada, brings advanced healthcare services to meet the needs of the region’s growing population.
Denver, CO, February 3, 2025 – NexCore Group, a privately-held national healthcare real estate development, investment, and management firm, is excited to celebrate the grand opening of the Specialty Care Center at Renown South Meadows Medical Center. With a geographic reach expanding 29 states, NexCore Group is proud to have partnered with Renown Health on this impactful project, which is designed to address the healthcare needs of the expanding northern Nevada community.
“Several years back we were looking to expand our facilities in our South Reno community and desperately needed to as our population continued to grow,” said Sam Weller, CEO of Renown South Meadows Medical Center. “We knew that we had to expand and build a building that could be integrated into our campus, but we didn’t have the expertise to envision and build it, or the capital resources to build a building to this extent. So, we worked with NexCore to be able to envision this project and to expand our campus.”
The 121,117-square-foot Specialty Care Center, developed by NexCore Group, offers various healthcare services and advanced care technologies. The first and second floors are now open, and the third is scheduled for completion in late February.
“We’re proud to partner with Renown Health to create healthcare environments that meet the needs of today’s patients while being adaptable to future demands,” said Jarrod Daddis, NexCore President. “This new Specialty Care Center is a perfect example of what we can achieve when we work together to bring innovative, patient-centered care to life.”
The project has generated substantial economic benefits for the region, employing more than 20 local contractors and over 400 skilled craftspeople. With the first and second floors of the Specialty Care Center now open, Renown Health continues its mission to provide accessible, compassionate care for the people of northern Nevada.
The first floor features a full-service cafeteria, a large laboratory serving both the Medical Office Building and the hospital, and specialized Catheterization and Electrophysiology Labs. The second floor includes a 24,000 square-foot Ambulatory Surgery Center with six operating rooms, 20 pre- and post-operative recovery bays, and an expanded sterile processing department.
The third floor, which will house the Breast Cancer Center and Cardiovascular Suite, is scheduled to open in May 2025. It will offer comprehensive services, including a 15-bay infusion center, breast imaging suite, wellness center, and dedicated surgical and medical oncology suites.
As the final phase of the project approaches, this milestone underscores the impact of innovative medical development in supporting growing communities and ensuring high-quality care for years to come.
