Mary Hines and Jennifer Vergara join CBRE as Vice Chairs

Palo Alto – Oct. 7, 2024 – CBRE announced it has hired Mary Hines and Jennifer Vergara as Vice Chairs to its Life Sciences Practice in the San Francisco Bay Area. The duo specializes in tenant and landlord representation in the Bay Area life sciences sector and are prominent figures in the commercial real estate industry locally and nationally.

Hines and Vergara join CBRE from Newmark. The pair were top producers at Newmark.

They bring more than 45 years of combined experience and have completed more than 12 million sq. ft. of life sciences transactions. They represent a variety of venture-backed startups, large pharmaceutical companies, publicly traded REITs and institutional landlords in the life science and biotech industries. Notable clients include Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Gilead Sciences, Pliant Therapeutics, Denali Therapeutics, Arcus Biosciences and The Column Group, among others.

Vergara was named to San Francisco Business Times’ 40 Under 40 in 2020 and San Francisco Business Times’ Women of Influence in 2017 and multiyear recipient of the CoStar Power Broker award. She is fluent in Spanish

Hines and Vergara were recognized by San Francisco Business Times as 2023 “Deal of the Year” honorees for their work on the Pliant Therapeutics headquarters lease in South San Francisco. They also received the publication’s 2019 “Deal of the Year” award for their efforts on BioMed Realty’s lease at 5300 Chiron Way in Emeryville, Calif.
