Brand-new surgery center and medical office building unveiled by AdventHealth Daytona Beach
Spanning three floors, the 60,000-square-foot facility is located on the hospital campus of AdventHealth Daytona Beach and is now home to a comprehensive array of medical specialties, including cardiac care, general surgery, orthopedics, women’s care, imaging, ENT, plastic surgery and more.

“Florida is the fastest-growing state in the U.S., an that’s something we are experiencing ourselves in East Volusia County. Expansion projects like this are crucial to help us keep up with the growing needs of our community,” said David Weis, CEO and president of AdventHealth Daytona Beach and AdventHealth operations in East Volusia County. “In recent months, we’ve experienced a high volume of patients seeking care at our facilities. This is a testament to the trust our community places in our team; it is a privilege and a responsibility we take seriously.”

The new medical office building and ambulatory surgery center is part of a partnership with Cardiology Physician’s Group and North Florida Surgeons.

The ground floor houses advanced cardiac rehabilitation, imaging services, and a surgical clinic dedicated to North Florida Surgeons.

The second floor includes a 20,000-square-foot cardiology clinic dedicated to Cardiology Physicians Group.

The third floor encompasses a 20,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center, tailored to serve both medical groups and other physician specialties.

“At this world-class outpatient facility, patients can have their hearts examined non-invasively and painlessly in one of our three echo rooms. They can also undergo heart and vascular procedures such as cardiac catheterizations and have their pacemaker serviced, as well as receive cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, so they can get back to doing the activities they love,” said Dr. Dinesh Arab of Cardiology Physicians Group, who serves as medical director of interventional cardiology at AdventHealth Daytona Beach. “AdventHealth has been on the leading edge for cardiac care in our area including opening the first structural heart program in Volusia County. This building is the completion of another milestone – opening an ambulatory setting of this size and capable of addressing such clinical complexities.”

Outpatient surgery centers are not only convenient, offering an excellent patient experience, but they also give lower-cost options for the community to access high-quality care.

“This new facility features state-of-the-art operating rooms, allowing physicians to perform a wide range of outpatient surgical procedures,” said Dr. Mark White of North Florida Surgeons. “Patients who do not need acute care or an overnight hospital stay will be able to have outpatient procedures performed here and then recover in the comfort of their own home. This is not only more convenient, but it also gives lower-cost options to many patients without compromising high-quality care.”

This contributes to the enhanced outpatient experience at this new stunning facility, where advanced technology and medical expertise is combined with the patient in mind.

“This facility is an investment in increasing the community’s access to the high-quality compassionate care they can expect from AdventHealth,” said Audrey Gregory, Ph.D., RN, executive vice president and CEO of AdventHealth’s East Florida Division. “As an organization, AdventHealth is one of the largest faith-based systems in the country, with a deep commitment to growing with our communities. As our local footprints continue to grow, our teams remain consistent in setting the pace for excellence in health care.”

AdventHealth Daytona Beach is Florida’s only hospital to earn consecutive “A” ratings in patient safety from The Leapfrog Group and is repeatedly recognized as the No. 1 hospital in Volusia and Flagler counties by U.S. News and World Report. Additionally, AdventHealth Daytona Beach received a five-star rating – the top recognition – from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for three years in a row.

Construction began in Feb. 2023 on this joint venture between AdventHealth and Meadows & Ohly.

The architect on the project is HuntonBrady and the general contractor is Brasfield & Gorrie.
