News Release: Saint Alphonsus Breaks Ground on Planned Medical Office Building in Caldwell

11/29/2023

Saint Alphonsus Health System will officially kick off construction on a new 4-story, 54,800 square-foot medical office building in Caldwell, Idaho at a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 9:00 AM (MTN). The Caldwell community is experiencing significant growth and will benefit greatly from access to expanded health care services close to home.

This new Medical Health Plaza will be located at 712 Aviation Way, at the intersection of Aviation Way and Franklin Road, in Caldwell. The medical office building will be constructed on an 18-acre site and offer 54,800 square feet of usable clinic space on 6 acres of developed site and include 320 parking stalls.

The Medical Health Plaza will offer primary care (family medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics/gynecology), urgent care, and specialty services which include cardiology, general surgery, ear nose and throat, orthopedics, sports medicine, podiatry, and occupational medicine. Lab and Imaging services will be provided including X-Ray, Mammography and Ultrasound. Approximately 34 physicians and healthcare providers are planned to staff the medical office building.

This new facility will have enough acreage to ensure the capacity to expand as the growth in the community dictates. The interior clinic space features a modular, pod design which allows the space to adapt to the growth and demand for the specialty services thus minimizing the need for additional construction costs as would be required under a more traditional building model.

“At Saint Alphonsus, we are committed to ensuring the communities we serve have access to exceptional high-quality health care when, where, and how they need it,” said Odette Bolano, President and CEO, of West Region, Trinity Health. “Our commitment is to develop an innovative medical facility with a sustainable design that enables the residents of Canyon County and the surrounding region to experience exceptional and accessible primary and specialty care close to home.”

Construction began on November 27, 2023, over a 20-month period with projected completion in September 2025. Our Boise-based architectural and construction partners, Lombard Conrad Architects and Andersen Construction have worked extensively in the past with Saint Alphonsus Health System and understand our focus on creating healing, patient-centered, accessible, and cost-effective facilities, and this project is no exception to their creativity and innovative spirit.
