Alessio Tropeano will lead the division, beginning with the execution of the firm’s initial life science project in Emeryville
CHICAGO (November 14, 2022) – CA Ventures (“CA”), the vertically integrated real estate investment management company, today announced the formal launch of its life science platform with the appointment of Alessio Tropeano as senior vice president. Tropeano will spearhead the execution of the division’s investment strategy and the further expansion of its portfolio.

Tropeano joins CA as the life science industry has experienced increased investment, growth and innovation over the last decade which was further propelled by the COVID-19 pandemic. The division’s initial investment includes a mixed-use transit-oriented development in Emeryville, California, comprised of 350,000-square-feet of Class A laboratory space, 30 homes for low-income renters and community-serving amenity space. Beyond the Emeryville project, the vertical’s investment strategy targets development and redevelopment projects in established cluster markets and top-tier university markets with strong research centers amongst other compelling fundamentals.

Prior to joining CA, Tropeano served as a vice president on CBRE’s New York City life science team, where he was responsible for advising and representing owners and tenants in the office and life science sectors throughout North America. Within this role, Tropeano successfully advised owners and developers on more than 5.5 million square feet of new life science development projects in established and emerging markets throughout the U.S. and Canada. Prior to CBRE, Tropeano also held roles with Transwestern, where he focused on expanding the firm’s tenant representation business while working with owners on the repositioning and lease-up of their assets. Tropeano began his career as a net lease advisor with Sands Investment Group in Charleston, South Carolina, where he focused on the sale of small to mid-sized properties across the country, representing both institutional owners and private owners and developers on the disposition and acquisition of net leased assets. Tropeano graduated from the College of Charleston School of Business and Economics with a degree in Finance.
