News Release: Mercy Health Celebrates Kings Mill Hospital Topping Out Ceremony

Mercy Health and the construction crew for Kings Mills Hospital celebrated a significant milestone in the hospital’s construction. They gathered for a topping out ceremony, lifting the final steel beam, signed by doctors, nurses, staff, employees and community members, into place to complete the skeleton of the hospital.
Brief remarks from Mercy Health leaders and others started the event, followed by the topping out ceremony and lunch, which Mercy Health provided to the construction crew as a way of thanking them for their work on Kings Mills Hospital.
The new 172,500 square-foot hospital, the first new hospital construction in Cincinnati since Mercy Health built West Hospital in 2014, will focus on providing emergency care and general and orthopedic surgery and offers opportunity for future campus expansion. It will include:
✔ Emergency department
✔ One level II cath lab
✔ 60 beds
✔ Four operating rooms
✔ Three procedure suites
The facility will also be home to a medical office building located adjacent to the hospital and offering specialist care, including cardiology, pulmonology, general surgery, gynecology, gastroenterology and vascular services.
It will initially employ 175-200 full-time staff, growing to more than 275 in total.
