Facility to Meet Patient Needs of Developing Jerome Area
MARYSVILLE, Ohio, Aug. 26, 2022 — At its May monthly meeting, the Board of Trustees of Memorial Health approved the purchase of six acres of land near the intersection of Routes 42 and 33, with frontage along the busy highway that runs from Dublin to Marysville and to the northwest. At its recent meeting of the Board of Trustees, the independent health system shared plans for the 40,000-square-foot, two-story, $25.5-million medical office building to be named the Memorial Jerome Medical Center.
“This is a highly traveled corridor in Union County, the fastest growing county in the state,” comments Spence Fisher, Executive Vice President at Memorial Health. “We already draw a significant number of patients that live and work in the southern Union County and Plain City area. Bringing many of our services closer to them makes sense.”
The new Memorial Jerome Medical Center will be located off State Route 42, adjacent to 33. It will be one of the first parcels built out on a road to be developed by Homewood Construction and has an estimated 10 to 12-month construction timeline. Groundbreaking will not occur until the new road is constructed, pending approval of a new intersection of this road and Route 42.
The state-of-the-art facility will be a long-time asset for the community, providing increased access to local, patient-focused healthcare, and utilizing the latest technology and best practices.
“Meeting our patients where they live, work, and play is of the utmost importance to Memorial Health. By expanding our services to the Plain City and Jerome area, we are able to deliver the same high-quality, nationally recognized healthcare that Memorial has become known for,” adds Fisher.
Patients visiting the new Memorial Jerome Medical Center will have easy access to coordinated services in one convenient location. Services that will be located in the new building will include primary care, specialty care, occupational medicine, ancillary services, and an urgent care.
“In the last 10 years, Memorial has expanded our services and built outpatient facilities in both Urbana and at City Gate in Marysville,” provides Fisher. “These facilities have offered a convenience to many who already use our medical services and introduced new people to what makes Memorial extraordinary. We look forward to delivering these same care-focused relationships to the residents and employees of the Jerome and Plain City areas.”
Project partners in the Memorial Jerome Medical Center include Champlin Architects, Cincinnati; HPlex, Columbus; and Corna Kokosing, Columbus.
