The opening expands access to care in the fast-growing Racine County community

Aurora Medical Center – Mount Pleasant opened to patients today, expanding access to care in the fast-growing Racine County community. The new campus is located at 13250 Washington Ave. in Mount Pleasant, WI, at the intersection of I-94 and Hwy. 20 and includes a medical office building and hospital with an emergency department, intensive care unit, and operating rooms.
“After three years of planning and construction, and working closely with our community, we are pleased to open our doors to patients at this beautiful new medical center,” said Lisa Just, President of Aurora Medical Center – Mount Pleasant and South Wisconsin patient service area. “Aurora Mount Pleasant brings expert, quality care closer to home, and fills a vital need in the rapidly growing Racine/Kenosha counties and across south Wisconsin and northern Illinois.”
Aurora Medical Center – Mount Pleasant includes a 198,000 square foot hospital with 60 patient beds, 12 ICU beds and five operating rooms, an emergency department and more. The 98,000 square foot medical office building houses 24 specialty providers, including orthopedics, obstetrics & gynecology, cardiology, sports medicine and rehab services.
Aligned to our Safe Care Promise, the medical center includes digital innovations such as clinic self-rooming technology, allowing patients to bypass the waiting room. Patients are assigned to a private exam room and will wait there until their doctor is ready to see them, decreasing exposure to illness and increasing privacy.
The facility was designed and built in the interest of sustainability and environmental stewardship and will seek a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification. This is in keeping with Advocate Aurora’s commitment to power its health care operations with 100 percent renewable electricity by 2030.
