MINNETONKA, Minn., Aug. 27, 2020 – Minnetonka-based Healthcare Real Estate Insights™ is proceeding with the 2020 HREI Insights Awards™ despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and nominations are now being accepted.

“Despite some hesitation that it might not be appropriate to give out awards during a pandemic, we have concluded that there has never been a more appropriate time to recognize excellence in healthcare real estate (HRE) development and executive leadership,” HREI™ Publisher and Founding Editor Murray W. Wolf explained. “Two-thirds of our Editorial Advisory Board was in favor of going ahead, and we’re sure some truly exceptional HRE stories will emerge this year as the industry continues to do business despite the added challenges of the pandemic.”

Now in their eighth year, the HREI Insights Awards were the first and remain the only comprehensive national awards program totally dedicated to recognizing excellence in the areas of healthcare real estate (HRE) development and executive leadership. The entry deadline is Sept. 28.

The awards are presented by HREI, the first and only national magazine entirely devoted to covering HRE development, financing and investment.

“We are certainly sensitive to struggles faced by healthcare providers and the HRE industry amid the COVID-19 pandemic,” Mr. Wolf said. “However, after careful consideration, and after consulting with our board, we have decided to move ahead.”

As noted above, HREI officials believe there has never been a more appropriate time to celebrate the achievements of HRE professionals and their projects.

“America’s creative, hardworking HRE professionals have probably never been more deserving of this recognition,” Mr. Wolf said.

Although some projects have been delayed, he continued, HRE construction starts were up 30 percent during the fourth quarter of 2019 and most of those projects proceeding.

“So there should be plenty of projects worthy of consideration,” he said. “And, frankly, I think we could all use something positive, something to celebrate, by the time this difficult year comes to a close.”

The HREI Insights Awards have honored the best of the best in healthcare real estate since 2013.

The 2020 HREI Insights Awards are Sponsored by:
