SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., and THE WOODLANDS, Texas, Oct. 23, 2019 – The Woodlands-based Pisula Development Company recently announced healthcare real estate management industry veteran Debra Schooler has joined the firm as its Senior Vice President, Asset & Property Management.

Ms. Schooler, who joined the firm in June, is responsible for project management, processes and procedures, and overseeing upcoming single-tenant and micro hospital development. She is based in Scottsdale, Ariz.

“Pisula Development Company is very honored to have Debra Schooler join us,” says David Teague, Chief Operating Officer and Principal. “Our team to date has been very entrepreneurial and Debra brings a wealth of institutional process experience that lends increased structure to our group. In addition, she brings a lot of relationships, both horizontally and vertically, across the industry.”

“I am so pleased to join a group with individuals who share the same direction,” Ms. Schooler says. “I have been in the corporate world for a long time and was looking for an opportunity with an owner and developer where I could bring my background with 20 different health systems and healthcare REITs. Helping them to develop and implement standardized processes and take them to that next step will be an incredible experience.”

Active in commercial real estate for more than 23 years, with the past 11 years focused on healthcare, Ms. Schooler is regarded as an expert in the field of healthcare real estate asset management, property management and real estate compliance. Prior to joining Pisula Development, Ms. Schooler was national director of healthcare asset services for Transwestern’s Healthcare Advisory Services group. She also served as Director of Healthcare Real Estate Compliance with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, where she oversaw the Ascension Health account, and as the Southwest Region Asset Manager and then Director of Operations for Healthcare Trust of America Inc., where she developed transition policies for their in-house property management platform of 12.5 million square feet, at the time, of medical real estate assets.

In addition to holding an Arizona Real Estate Salesperson license, she received a 2011 The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY®) award from the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) for her work with Renaissance Towne Center in Bountiful, Utah. She also received the “Hero of the Year” award from Good Samaritan Hospital & No Kill Animal Shelter for her work as a pet therapist with cancer patients.
