News Release: Hammes Company provides Operational Readiness services

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hammes Company adds Operational Readiness to its service platform

Milwaukee, Wis., August 21, 2019 – Hammes Company, the nation’s leading healthcare developer as ranked by Modern Healthcare’s Construction and Design Survey, has added Operational Readiness to its integrated service platform.

Hammes Company’s Operational Readiness service provides a comprehensive overlay to clients’ capital projects, working with the clinical and operational leadership to be “patient ready.” The program integrates numerous multi-functional work teams and leads them in much the same way Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) teams are led.

The Hammes team works with hospital leadership to develop and manage an operational readiness project plan that includes a detailed task list and guide to assist in the coordination of activation activities and departmental tasks such as staffing and training, revenue cycle and billing, regulatory and accreditation, emergency preparedness, operational practice and contract and licensure tracking.

“We are continually looking for innovative ways to support the success of major capital projects with our clients,” said Hammes Company President Nancy Connolly. “We are fortunate to have great leadership and experience with Liz Durrence, who understands the needs of healthcare executives and the multitude of operational, clinical and administrative tasks that are required to be patient ready. Many firms offer transition planning; this service is not that. We will act as clinical leadership’s right hand developing the plan, running scenarios and assisting their teams as they acclimate to the new space and prepare to be fully operational on day one.”

Hammes Company facilitates a “Walk in the Life” event as part of the program, testing numerous scenarios with leaders and staff to determine whether the organization has the physical, technical and support components needed to ensure operational readiness.

Hammes recently completed an operational readiness program and “Walk in the Life” event for Northeast Georgia Health System in preparation for the opening of their new hospital in Dahlonega.

“Hammes Company’s Operational Readiness team facilitated a smooth transition and an on-time opening of our NGMC-Lumpkin hospital campus,” said Chris Paravate, CIO of Northeast Georgia Medical Center. “They did a great job listening to our staff and escalated issues in a timely manner throughout the project.”

Hammes Company’s Operational Readiness Service is led by Liz Durrence.  Liz joins Hammes after serving as the Chief Operating Officer of several hospitals in the southeast for a national healthcare system. To read a recent article on operational readiness by Liz Durrence, please click here.
