Post-Acute & Senior Living: Caddis announces three new Heartis projects

Company has projects planned for Atlanta, Milwaukee and Philadelphia markets

Caddis has proposed its first luxury high-rise senior housing facility, the future 278,000 square foot Heartis Buckhead in Atlanta, scheduled for completion in 2021.

DALLAS – Dallas-based healthcare real estate (HRE) development firm Caddis continues to expand its senior housing portfolio, periodically adding new developments in new markets for the company.

The company, which develops senior housing facilities through its Heartis brand, in recent weeks announced three new projects in three separate metropolitan markets of the country: Atlanta, Milwaukee and Philadelphia.

“We believe every area of the country should have the opportunity to benefit from the beautiful features and amenities, stimulating environment, and attentive support and care offered by Heartis senior living communities,” said Caddis CEO Jason L. Signor.

One of the projects, Caddis’ first luxury high-rise senior housing facility, is in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta. The future 278,000 square foot Heartis Buckhead, scheduled for completion in 2021, would offer 213 independent living, assisted living and memory care apartments.

The facility is slated for a site next to a 10-story, 72,923 square foot medical office building (MOB) that Caddis owns – and has plans to renovate – across from Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.

In Greater Milwaukee, Caddis was set to start construction in recent weeks on Heartis Village North Shore, a 105-unit, 96,770 square foot senior housing facility in the suburb of Glendale. Caddis had to overcome numerous obstacles to get the project underway on a former brownfield site in an underserved area, according to officials.

The site, which overlooks the Milwaukee River, was troublesome for numerous developers that backed out of a number of projects since the 1990s. Because of the persistence shown by Caddis, the project received the 2018 HREI Insights Award for the “Best New Post-Acute or Senior Living Facility.”

In the Philadelphia market, Caddis announced its first Heartis brand senior housing community in the Mid-Atlantic states.

There, the company is planning a two-story, 99-unit facility in Yardley, Pa., about 30 miles north of Philadelphia. Heartis Yardley will be at 1667 Dobry Road in Yardley, 31 miles northeast of Philadelphia. Caddis CEO Jason L. Signor said: “We believe every area of the country should have the opportunity to benefit from the beautiful features and amenities, stimulating environment, and attentive support and care offered by Heartis senior living communities.”
