‘Medical Home’ consolidates outpatient care, facilitates shared resources

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center broke ground for the $19 million, three-story, 44,000 square foot UPMC. Outpatient Center in Allison Park, Pa., in June 2016. The facility, described as “a hospital without beds,” opened 2017.

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) sought to better serve the growing population of Hampton Township, about 30 minutes north of downtown Pittsburgh, by consolidating multiple care locations along the Pennsylvania Route 8 corridor.
