Anchor Health Properties announces partnership with the Villages to build the Center For Advanced Healthcare at Brownwood

(Charlottesville, Va.)- Anchor Health Properties, a national, full-service healthcare real estate development, management and acquisitions company focused solely on medical facilities, is pleased to announce the commencement of the development of the Center for Advanced Healthcare at Brownwood in partnership with The Villages® and located within The Villages® community in Central Florida, one of the fastest growing areas in the country.
The project, a 285,000 square foot multispecialty building, is connected to a 150 room hotel and conference center including a spa, and Wolfgang Puck restaurant. The project is slated to break ground in early 2018 and will take approximately two years to construct. The Center for Advanced Healthcare at Brownwood will be built on a site that is approximately 31 acres in The Villages® Brownwood Paddock Square Town Center directly fronting Route 44, and will also be accessible by golf cart, which is The Villages® residents preferred means of transportation, allowing ease and accessibility for more than 120,000 existing residents of The Villages® and the broader community.
Anchor Health Properties began working with The Villages Health® in 2011 when the company helped to develop a primary care model that completely changed the delivery of service to patients. Six years later, the Center for Advanced Healthcare at Brownwood development is an extension of the successful model of care.

More than 25 clinical specialists will be represented in the Center for Advanced Healthcare at Brownwood including a significant presence in Oncology (Radiation and Medical Oncology), Imaging (MRI, CT, PET, etc.), Ophthalmology, Aesthetics (Dermatology and Plastic Surgery), Rehab and an Ambulatory Surgery Center. Physicians caring for patients in cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, general urology, rheumatology and other specialties will all be part of The Villages Health®.
The Center for Advanced Healthcare at Brownwood represents the combination of customer service and the “retailization” of healthcare by purposefully integrating a hotel, spa, and conference center. All connected by a common courtyard, the first level of the Center for Advanced Healthcare at Brownwood will be an active environment incorporating a retail pharmacy, lab, central registration, and education and resource center to aid in the coordination of care for patients as well as other complementary amenities. The surgery center will have a discreet exit out to a connector that leads to the hotel with a dedicated patient concierge, where patients can stay pre or post procedure if they choose.

Attached to the Center for Advanced Healthcare at Brownwood is the Brownwood Hotel and Spa. The managing operator is AHC + Hospitality based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The architect of record for the Project is Earl Swensson Associates out of Nashville, Tennessee.
