News Release: Reed Construction Selected to Build Northwestern Medicine Delnor Family Clinic

CHICAGO, April 17, 2017 – Reed Construction is pleased to announce their selection to complete construction of a new Family Clinic for Northwestern Medicine Delnor in Geneva, Illinois. The new addition will add 21,000 square feet of space to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital’s current 159-bed, acute-care facility.

Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital is mere miles away from its counterpart, Central DuPage Hospital – both of which share the same commitment: to bring excellent care to those residing in DuPage and Kane county. Established in 1940, Delnor Hospital continues to serve the community through their use of state-of-the-art technology, unwavering patient care, and providing the best access to advanced services. This new family clinic will strengthen the company’s ability to keep up with the rapidly changing healthcare environment, while providing employees and the community with a highly efficient facility.

Reed Construction was selected by Northwestern Medicine to complete a new freestanding Family Medicine Residency at its existing Delnor Hospital location in Geneva, Illinois. The 2-story building’s interior will include a waiting area, 22 exam rooms, a procedure room, laboratory space, resident work room, offices and conference rooms. In addition to many acute interior design elements, the new Family Clinic will sport exterior façade components consisting of masonry veneer, metal panels, and glazing. The project is slated to begin this month and is scheduled for completion in 10 months.

Reed Construction will be integrating the use of internet of things technology to monitor the site with a live feed interactive camera to deliver real time quality control documentation and schedule status feedback. The project was also selected to be a pilot project for Reed Constructions real shot virtual reality construction progress photo documentation.

As part of Reed’s Ground-Up Construction division lead by Scott Pickands, Project Executive Jack Sbertoli is leading the construction team for Reed Construction. He will be joined by Senior Project Manager James Both, Project Manager Brock Reckelhoff, Project Engineer Nick Stading, and Senior Project Superintendent Jim Blake. Architectural services will be provided by Kluber Architects & Engineers. Northwestern Medicine is the project owner.
