SAN ANTONIO, TX – Today officials from CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System and The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, Trammell Crow Company (TCC) and Seavest celebrated a groundbreaking for The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Health Pavilion – Stone Oak. The three-story, 60,000-square-foot medical office building is located at 1434 East Sonterra Boulevard. The building is being developed by Trammell Crow Company and is owned by Seavest. The project is scheduled for completion summer 2017.
“On behalf of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System and The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, I am pleased to announce the expansion of our network of care into North San Antonio,” said Ken D. Haynes, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System, president/CEO.
The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio president, Elias Neujahr, commented, “This new development, The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Health Pavilion – Stone Oak, will offer the Stone Oak community access to The Children’s Hospital’s world-class Baylor College of Medicine physicians and care, as well as adult primary care – close to home. “
The Health Pavilion – Stone Oak will be home to a variety of pediatric services, family practice groups and provide office space for Baylor College of Medicine physicians.
The first floor of the building will be home to The Children’s Hospital’s’ third, fully dedicated, pediatric emergency room, called The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Emergency Center – Stone Oak. It will be staffed with pediatric emergency medicine providers and nurses from around the country, each trained to do one thing – take care of your child in an emergency. In addition, the building will also serve as a KidSTOP location. KidSTOP, which was launched by The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio in 2009, is a service designed especially for pediatric patients that offers a convenient and anxiety-free place to receive a variety of tests and outpatient treatments without having to visit the Hospital.
“We have a decade-long standing relationship with CHRISTUS Health and couldn’t be more pleased to be partnering again to develop our fourth medical office building in San Antonio,” said Davis Griffin, Principal and Healthcare Development Leader with Trammell Crow Company. “This is a unique project for us and our goal is to provide a fun and safe place to ensure the health of our children and families.”
