There are some long-standing, evidence-based assumptions about medical office building (MOB) sales statistics. One of them says that the strongest quarter of most years is typically the fourth (Q4), a time when both buyers and sellers often prefer to make deals happen before the new year begins for a variety of reasons, including tax, accounting and housekeeping purposes.

Another says that most years start somewhat slowly when it comes to sales volumes, as many companies are too busy processing their Q4 activities to embark on new ones.

In recent years, however, it looks as if those premises, while they might still remain valid during typical times, have been thrown out the window.
