- The Sanders Trust (TST) recently acquired Tower Pointe Medical Center, a 42,000 square foot MOB in Greenwood, S.C., for $8.4 million, or $200 PSF. Tower Pointe, 105 Vine Crest Court, is a freestanding, multi-tenant outpatient facility that provides family practice, neurology, pediatrics, occupational medicine and diagnostic imaging, among others. The MOB is 100 percent leased, with the majority of space being occupied by Greenwood-based Self Regional Healthcare, whose 294-bed hospital in Greenwood is about five minutes from the MOB. Greenwood, about two hours west of Columbia, the state capital, is a city of 25,000 or so residents. “Tower Pointe Medical Center offers an excellent opportunity to incorporate an already-strong facility into our portfolio,” said Steve Hewett, senior VP of Birmingham, Ala.-based TST, in a statement. He added that the acquisition furthers the company’s goal of investing $100 million to $200 million annually in healthcare properties nationwide. The MOB was developed in 2007 by physician partners of Piedmont Health Group, which recently became a part of Self Medical Group, a physicians practice group within Self Regional Healthcare.
