According to the U.S. Census Bureau, McKinney, Texas, about 35 miles north of Dallas, remained a somewhat small town right up until the mid-1990s.

Starting with the new millennium, however, historic McKinney started booming, ranking as the country’s fastest-growing city with more than 50,000 people from 2000 to 2003 and again in 2006.

While it is no longer growing at such a frantic pace, the city is indeed still experiencing plenty of growth, as the population now tops 155,000 people, according to the Census Bureau.

Along with the continued growth comes a continued need for more healthcare providers, services and facilities, according to officials with Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health and Indianapolis-based Duke Realty Corp. (NYSE: DRE).
