News Release: The Newly Expanded Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children

It’s hard to believe more than three years have passed since we “broke the sky” on the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children expansion. At 450,000 square feet, this $270M project represents the most significant bricks and mortar investment Nemours has made in the Delaware Valley since the original Alfred I. duPont Institute expanded to become the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in 1984.

With 144 technologically advanced single-patient rooms, an expanded emergency department, a soaring 5-story atrium and clinical innovations around every turn of the two almond shaped towers, the newly expanded hospital was built for families, by families.

Needless to say, we’re very excited and look forward to sharing the finished product with you. So mark your calendars and plan to join us on September 18 to see the future of the duPont Hospital for Children and speak with the leaders, families and children who helped shape it.
